Roayh stayed on well to come home third in the Group Two Tanqueray Richmond Stakes over six furlongs at Glorious Goodwood on Friday, July 30.
The two-year-old Speightstown colt was short of room leaving the stalls under Frankie Dettori and settled in fifth towards the stands’ side of the six-strong field.
He was asked for his effort with two and a half furlongs to race and quickened well to take third just inside the furlong-marker.
Roayh kept on to the line but could not trouble Libranno and The Paddyman in the closing stages to finish third, beaten two and a half lengths in total.
Saeed bin Suroor, his trainer, said: "He is a good horse, whom I particularly like, and he always tries his best.
"He has a nice future. At the moment, six furlongs is best for him. He could go seven furlongs - that would be no problem - but right now six furlongs on good to fast ground is what he wants.
Libranno made all of the running to score by a length and a quarter in 1m 11.48s on turf officially described as good, good to firm in places.
