Burgundy Ice became the 150th winner globally for Godolphin in 2009 when landing the digibet Handicap Stakes at Kempton Park on the evening of October 14.
This year has already been numerically the most successful ever for Godolphin, eclipsing the previous highest total of 133, which was achieved in 2001.
Highlights of the current campaign include the Classic success of Mastery in the Group One Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster, Music Note’s dual US Grade One triumphs in the Beldame Stakes and Ballerina Stakes and the recent victories of Gayego and Gladiatorus in Grade/Group One company.
A particularly strong contingent of juvenile runners has been headed by Poet’s Voice, who landed the Group Two DFS Champagne Stakes, Group Three scorers Long Lashes and Buzzword, as well as impressive dual winner Al Zir.
Godolphin did not have to wait long for the 151st winner of the year, when Saboteur was successful the following day in the EBF Maiden Stakes at Nottingham on October 15.
